The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crime prevention operations across the state, leading to the arrest of suspects and impoundment of vehicles for various traffic and regulatory offences in Asaba.
The command said the operation was carried out on May 8, 2026, following directives by the commissioner of police on visibility policing and effective supervision aimed at maintaining peace and order.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, said the a total of 22 vehicles were impounded for offences including driving unregistered vehicles, operating vehicles without registration number plates, driving against traffic and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The police also disclosed that three suspects were arrested for allegedly obstructing and assaulting police officers, while carrying out their lawful duties.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to proactive policing, public safety and strict enforcement of extant laws across the state.
It assured residents that law enforcement activities would be carried out professionally and without bias, irrespective of status or position.
The police further urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and support security agencies with useful information capable of aiding crime prevention and enhancing public safety.
