Operatives of the Isokoko Division, Lagos State Police Command, have arrested two suspected vandals, specialized in stealing roadside concrete barriers in the Ile-Zik area.
The arrest, made on April 22, 2025, followed a tip-off from vigilant members of the public.
The suspects, identified as Peter James (26) and Lesipi Adamu (24), were caught removing iron rods from concrete barriers along the road. Police recovered two sledgehammers, two cutting saws, and a pair of scissors from them.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement on Tuesday, noting that authorities are working to track down other accomplices who fled the scene.

“After preliminary investigations, the suspects were arraigned in court on charges of conspiracy, theft, and willful destruction of public infrastructure. The recovered tools have been registered as evidence.
“Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, condemned the act, emphasizing that vandalism poses a serious threat to public safety and infrastructure. He reiterated the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the state,” he stated.
Police urged the residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
