The Kano State Police Command has apprehended three armed robbery suspects in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred in Abuja, recovering a stolen vehicle in the process.
The suspects have been identified as Ismail Imran (20), Abdulaziz Yahaya (31), and Musa Ibrahim Isah (29), all residents of Rigasa Quarters in Kaduna State.
Spokesperson of the command Abdullahi Kiyawa in a statement on Wednesday, explained that the arrests were made on September 6, 2025, following a sustained surveillance operation conducted in collaboration with local vigilante groups
According to him, the operation was carried out under the directive of Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
He said during the operation, police recovered a 2014 Toyota Corolla S with registration number KWL-78 DN – a blue-colored vehicle, which had a broken windscreen and was reportedly stolen during the robbery attack on September 5, 2025, at approximately 2:00 AM in Durumi, Abuja.
Kiyawa noted that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects attacked the vehicle owner’s family during the robbery, critically injuring one family member before making away with the car.

He maintained that the vehicle’s owner has since confirmed the circumstances of the theft.
While quoting the Commissioner to have praised the operatives for their swift response and professionalism in handling the case, he emphasized that the operation’s success demonstrates the effectiveness of community-centered policing, an approach championed by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
“The three suspects are currently assisting police with investigations to determine the full extent of their criminal activities and any potential connections to other crimes.
The spokesperson also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, while assuring of the command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the state.
