The Osun State Police Command has arraigned three suspects in connection with the theft of two motorcycles in the Maboreje, Ikirun area of the state.
The suspects—Idowu Ajala, 40; Maruf Ajala, 56; and Ibrahim Idris, 28—were brought before the court following a months-long investigation triggered by repeated reports of missing motorcycles in the community.
According to a statement released on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abiodun Ojelabi, the police launched an investigation after residents of Maboreje lodged complaints at the Ikirun Police Area Command on December 23, 2023, and March 24, 2024, respectively.
“Following complaints from residents of Maboreje, Ikirun, it was reported that a blue TVS ‘Lady’ motorcycle with registration number KNR 759 UM and another TVS motorcycle with registration number FNN 898 QE were stolen from the aforementioned locations,” Ojelabi stated.
Acting on credible intelligence, detectives attached to the Commissioner of Police’s Monitoring Unit arrested the Ajala brothers on May 8, 2025, and recovered one of the stolen motorcycles from their possession.

“The command continued its investigation and, on 8th May 2025, acting on a tip-off and through an intelligence-led operation, detectives arrested Ajala Idowu and his elder brother, Ajala Maruf, with one of the stolen motorcycles in their possession,” the police spokesperson revealed.
During interrogation, the suspects claimed they purchased the motorcycle via Facebook from one Ibrahim Idris, a motorcycle mechanic based in Ibadan, Oyo State. The transaction was reportedly conducted through the Facebook account of Idowu Ajala.
“Further discreet investigation led to the arrest of Ibrahim Idris, male, aged 28, a native of Ibadan in Oyo State, who works as a motorcycle mechanic,” Ojelabi added.
With investigations concluded, all three suspects have now been arraigned in court for their alleged involvement in the theft.
