The Adamawa State Police Command has announced the deployment of maximum security ahead of the 2025 crossover night celebration scheduled for December 31 at the Unity Flyover in Yola.
The command said a comprehensive security plan has been put in place to guarantee a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free celebration for residents and visitors.
The information was contained in a statement issued on December 30, 2025, by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, directed the massive deployment of police personnel in collaboration with other security agencies to strategic locations across the state capital, with particular attention to the event venue and identified flashpoints.
As part of the arrangements, the Unity Flyover Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from Monday, December 29, 2025, to Thursday, January 1, 2026, to allow effective crowd control and unhindered security operations around the area.

Motorists travelling from Aliyu Mustapha International Airport to Yola Township have been advised to divert through Adamawa Investment Junction, Target Junction, and Ribadu Square.
Those heading towards Numan Road from Dougirei are also urged to use Zoo Road through Tsohon Kasuwa via the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Market.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order throughout the festive period and called on residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and incident-free crossover night celebration.
