A philanthropist and indigene of Wukari local government council, of Taraba state, Fadallah Habufari, has trained 88 youths and sponsored another 49 for advanced digital courses through the first-ever Tech Boot Camp held in the council.
Habufari, speaking over the weekend at the closing ceremony of the week-long program, said his motivation was rooted in the belief that empowering others strengthens the entire community.
“When you help people rise, you make the community stronger,” he said. “Supporting our youth not only empowers them to earn a living but also makes our communities more resilient. For instance, a yam seller in Wukari can now market and sell products to customers around the world through digital platforms.”
The Wukari Tech Boot Camp, described as a groundbreaking initiative to bridge the digital divide, provided participants with laptops and hands-on training in essential digital skills. The program aimed to equip young people to take advantage of opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
Habufari explained that the initiative was born from a careful assessment of the region’s needs, identifying digital literacy as the most sustainable path toward growth and empowerment for the next generation.

He urged other well-meaning individuals and affluent citizens to emulate the gesture by investing in youth development.
Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the life-changing opportunity, noting that they had long dreamed of acquiring digital skills but lacked the financial means.
“We had been hearing about similar programs but couldn’t afford them,” said one participant. “Fadallah made it possible for us to participate for free. We’ve learned so much and pray that God blesses him for his kindness.”
Local leaders have hailed the Wukari Tech Boot Camp as a major step toward fostering digital inclusion in Taraba State. They described the program as a model for youth empowerment capable of inspiring a new generation of tech-savvy entrepreneurs and professionals.
