Nottingham Forest is nearing the appointment of former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira as their new head coach.
The Premier League team dismissed Sean Dyche shortly after a goalless draw against last-place Wolves on Wednesday, leaving them just three points above the relegation zone with 12 matches left to play.
According to BBC Sport, Forest has initiated discussions with Pereira, and those talks are reportedly advancing, with an agreement now considered imminent.
The 57-year-old has quickly become the favored candidate to succeed Dyche, having previously worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at the Greek club Olympiacos.

Pereira was recognized for helping Wolves remain in the Premier League last season after joining midway through the campaign, but he was let go in November when the club had only two points from 10 games.
If appointed, the Portuguese manager would be Forest’s fourth this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche.
