A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women led by Hajia Zainab Maina, CON, a former Minister of Women Affairs on Wednesday paid a thank you visit to the National Woman Leader of the party, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe for assisting one of the party’s stakeholders, Princess Omobolanle Ogundiran, PhD.
Recall that Dr. Ogundiran on the 25th of December 2021, lost her Jabi, Abuja residence and all belongings to fire outbreak from electrical power surge that razed down the building to the ground.
The National Woman Leader swung into action and created a platform that rallied voluntary support from party faithfuls, loved ones and well-wishers in show of solidarity to the victim. Men, women, and youth responded by contributing, gifts of food items, clothing, amongst other things, to less the pain of the victim and family.

Appreciating Prof. Effah- Attoe, leader of delegation, Hajia Maina said , “we are here confirming the uniqueness of the largest political party in Africa and the demonstration of your unique love for humanity and motherly concern for rallying together of loved ones around a victim of a misfortune. This is unprecedented and we thank you on behalf of our sister and the PDP women nationwide, and equally urge you to keep it up.”
The National Woman Leader responding, thanked the women for coming but however remarked, that she felt a sense of duty to have intervened as a mother and fellow party woman. She thanked all who responded to her call of support for Princess Ogundiran .
“This show of empathy and love by the PDP family cannot be over emphasized. I thank the different segments/leaders, chieftains, and party faithful who responded to my voluntary call for support to our sister during her trying period.
“The outpouring of love and affection from all of you is highly commendable. I sincerely appreciate you all!” – Prof Attoe.
According to Mrs. Chinwe . Nnorom, National Director of Publicity, PDP, personalities that avail the opportunity of the platform created by the National Women Leader include; former Senate Presidents Dr. Bukola Saraki, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Senate Minority Whip, Senator Philip Aduda and wife, House of Representatives Leader, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, Senator Biodun Olujimi, Erelu Olusola Obada, former House of Representatives Majority Leader, Rt. The delegation, thereafter paid a visit to PDP national chairman,Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu and the women leaders enjoin teeming members and supporters of the party nationwide to join hands with the new National Working Committee in their quest to rescue and rebuild Nigeria come 2023.
