The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to reclaim the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency from the All Progressives Congress (APC) come the 2027 elections.
The PDP decision came after a high-level meeting in Asaba, hosted by the key stakeholders of the party, where it resolved to unite and work tirelessly to end the APC’s reign in the constituency.
The meeting, convened by Olorogun John Oguma, Chairman of the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency Forum, focused on strengthening the party’s structure and ensuring victory in the upcoming elections.
Oguma addressing delegates, stressed that the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, the largest in Delta Central Senatorial District with the highest number of kingdoms in Urhobo land, remains critical to PDP’s electoral success.
He acknowledged the party’s under-performance in the 2023 elections, but expressed confidence that a renewed sense of unity and strategic planning will lead to victory in 2027.
“The PDP did not perform as expected in 2023, but we have learned valuable lessons. With the increased unity among our members, and the strategic direction of this forum, we will reclaim our dominance in the constituency,” Oguma declared.
He reassured party members that the forum’s goal is to consolidate efforts and support the PDP’s existing structures, not to override the roles of local government chairmen.

Meanwhile, the forum has inaugurated organizing committee, led by the three PDP local government area chairmen, tasked with ensuring a well-structured launch for the forum.
