The party made its position known in a statement issued on Thursday at its national headquarters in Abuja, where it described reports linking the PDP to any coalition or agreement with the APM as misleading and false.
According to the statement, the PDP has not entered into any alliance, coalition, or political arrangement with the APM or any other political organisation in connection with the political gathering held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“We have called this press briefing to address the misleading narratives and deliberate falsehood being circulated concerning the social gathering scheduled to hold today in Ibadan under the guise of an alliance between the PDP and the APM,” the statement read.
The opposition party stressed that no person or group had been authorised to represent it at the event, warning that any contrary claim should be disregarded.
“Any person or group claiming to be acting on behalf of the PDP in connection with this event is doing so without the knowledge, approval, consent, or authority of the party,” the statement added.

The PDP further accused Governor Makinde and his associates of using the gathering to project political influence and conceal what it described as growing political isolation.
The party dismissed suggestions that it was involved in any covert coalition or political realignment, insisting that its structure remained intact despite internal disputes.
According to the PDP, recent political activities at the national secretariat in Abuja, including the submission of nomination forms by aspirants, demonstrated continued loyalty to the party’s established leadership and structure.
In a related development, the PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, disclosed that petitions had been submitted to security agencies over alleged impersonation of party officials.
Anyanwu said the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) had been notified regarding individuals allegedly attempting to form an interim National Working Committee outside the recognised party structure.
He added that some individuals involved had already been invited for questioning as investigations continue.
The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to participating fully in the 2027 elections, maintaining that the party remains united and politically relevant despite ongoing factional controversies.
The party also confirmed that the screening of governorship and presidential aspirants was ongoing in Abuja following the conclusion of earlier screening exercises for state and National Assembly positions.
