The wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye has revealed how after embracing christian faith and dedication to Christ completely changed her way of life, including her previous passions.
In a video that has circulated widely on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), she reflected on her life before becoming born again, revealing that she had a strong interest in fashion and had acquired gold jewellery and other accessories for herself and her young child.
She explained that after embracing her faith, she faced unexpected sacrifices as she sought to fully align with the teachings of her church.

According to her, wearing earrings was discouraged within the church at the time, prompting her to dispose of her jewellery despite its significant value.
Adeboye noted that the decision was not easy, especially considering the financial investment involved, but she remained committed to upholding her beliefs.
She also recalled that a family acquaintance had suggested giving the items to her mother to sell rather than discarding them. However, she declined the idea, insisting that anything she considered inappropriate for herself should not be passed on to others.
Despite the loss, she said she has no regrets, emphasising that her devotion to God took precedence over material possessions.
