The founder of Grace Nation Ministry, Chris Okafor, has publicly responded to the controversy surrounding his recent marriage.
The situation escalated when a video of his engagement to another woman circulated online, leading Nollywood actress Doris Ogala to claim she had been in a romantic relationship with him since 2017.
Ogala accused Okafor of urging her to leave her previous marriage and later betraying her after years of intimacy and repeated promises of marriage. She also stated that this situation negatively impacted her emotional and mental health.
The actress subsequently issued an ultimatum, demanding that Okafor either marry her or compensate her financially by buying her a house.
Amidst the controversy, photos from Okafor’s white wedding and traditional marriage ceremonies emerged online last Wednesday, prompting Ogala to seek N1 billion in damages for breach of promise.
The situation escalated further when Ogala was arrested on Saturday after posting a now-deleted image of a man, believed to be Okafor, in a private setting appearing shirtless with a towel around his waist.
Breaking his silence during a thanksgiving service at his church on Sunday, Okafor characterized Ogala’s outburst as “the devil’s anger” in response to the limited public exposure he and his new wife, Pearl, had shared.

He explained that their path to marriage was guided by prayer and divine instruction, indicating that the full details of their union would be revealed in due time.
“One day, at the right moment, my wife and I will share our story. For now, we simply want to express our gratitude to God. We prayed, sought the Lord’s guidance, received direction, and followed it,” he stated.
“There are reasons for our actions that may not be understood now, but in time, we will tell our own story. No one else can narrate it for us. We are aware of God’s plan and how we got here. All glory belongs to God.
“Some things are not meant to be revealed until the right time. The Bible mentions Jesus being led into the wilderness until the day of manifestation.
“There are moments that cannot be disclosed until the appointed time. Even with the little we chose to share, there was backlash, but we remain thankful.”
