The Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor has given a deadline to a woman, named Ms. Chi Okafor, who asserts that she is his daughter, demanding a DNA test to validate her claim.
He has also requested that she retract all online and offline statements linking him to allegations of fatherhood or abandonment.
Additionally, he is seeking a public apology, stating that these allegations have harmed his reputation.
Speaking through his lawyer, Maxwell Opara, at a press conference in Owerri on Wednesday, Okafor denied being the biological father of Ms. Okafor and her sibling, asserting that they are the result of infidelity by his estranged wife.
The pastor characterized the statements made by the woman as cyber incitement, cyberbullying, cyber harassment, cyberstalking, criminal defamation, and malicious impersonation, warning that legal action would be taken if his requests were not met.
Opara stated: “Any claim suggesting that our client abandoned a spouse or children is false, misleading, defamatory, and constitutes cyberbullying.
“We have learned that an individual identifying herself as Ms. Chi Okafor has been claiming online to be the biological daughter of our client, Pastor Dr. Chris Okafor.
“She has made false, misleading, and defamatory assertions about his personal life and family relationships, including accusations of abandonment and neglect of parental duties.”
“To clarify, we assert that the ongoing public depiction of Ms. Lilian Okafor and her sibling as the children of our client, along with the publication of statements alleging abandonment, constitutes gross misrepresentation and libel. Such actions are damaging, misleading, and completely unacceptable.”
Opara further declared, that “we categorically, emphatically, and unequivocally state that the claims made by the so-called Ms. Chi Okafor are entirely false, misleading, malicious, inciting, and severely damaging to our client’s character and reputation.”

Outlining their demands, he stated, “We formally request the immediate retraction of all false, defamatory, and misleading statements published online or elsewhere regarding our client, along with a written apology published in two national newspapers, with copies sent to the relevant authorities.”
He continued, “We demand the immediate cessation of any further claims or implications of a familial relationship with our client, as well as the immediate removal of all content that falsely associates our client with allegations of fatherhood or abandonment.”
The lawyer also challenged the woman to undergo a DNA test, saying, “We challenge the impostor to submit herself and her sibling for a DNA test at a mutually agreed-upon and reputable health facility.”
Issuing a final warning, Opara said, “TAKE NOTICE that failure to comply with these demands will leave our Client with no option but to pursue all available legal remedies to protect his reputation, integrity, and ministry.”
“This statement is issued to clarify the facts, prevent further dissemination of falsehoods, and reaffirm our Client’s unwavering commitment to truth, dignity, and fairness,” he added.
The pastor also warned social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, as well as Ms. Doris Ogala and others, to desist from allegedly spreading what he described as false claims against him on social media.
