Newly elected President of the Nigeria Sitting Volleyball Federation, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has outlined an ambitious agenda to expand the sport across Nigeria and position the country among the world’s leading sitting volleyball nations.

Speaking after his election, Isa said his immediate priority is to accelerate the development of the sport at the grassroots while improving athletes’ welfare and increasing Nigeria’s competitiveness on the international stage.
“It is now time for us to hit the ground running. My vision is to take sitting volleyball to the global stage and make Nigeria one of the leading nations in the sport,” he said.

The federation president thanked stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to justify their trust through purposeful leadership and programmes that will grow the sport across all states of the federation.
“I sincerely thank all the stakeholders who elected me. The best way to repay their confidence is by ensuring that sitting volleyball becomes more popular across the country,” he added.
Isa, who also serves as Special Assistant to the President on People with Disabilities, pledged to work closely with the National Sports Commission (NSC) and other stakeholders to strengthen the federation, improve athletes’ welfare and create more opportunities for persons with disabilities through sports.
He also commended the NSC for conducting what he described as a free, fair and transparent election, expressing confidence that the Commission’s continued support would drive sustained growth and greater international success for Nigerian sitting volleyball.
