Bishop David Oyedepo has spoken out against the surge of killings and kidnappings across Nigeria and has called on Christians nationwide to begin a seven-day prayer for the country, he added by laying curse on the killers and their sponsors. The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide delivered the message during the 4th Pre-Shiloh Encounter Service on November 23, where he described the widening insecurity as a direct attack on ordinary citizens.
He told the congregation that the church in Nigeria would not be silenced and insisted that the current wave of violence would not prevail. He warned that those responsible for the attacks, along with their sponsors, were drawing judgment upon themselves. He recalled recent incidents, including the killing of worshippers and the abduction of dozens of villagers whose captors demanded enormous ransoms.
The cleric said the growing trade in kidnapping had become a heavy burden on communities who were already struggling, adding that criminal groups had turned the crime into a profitable business. He urged Christians across the country to join the seven-day prayer beginning at midnight and said it would serve as a spiritual effort to confront the insecurity.

According to him, the prayers would release divine intervention and bring confusion to those behind the violence. He instructed members to anoint their homes and workplaces as they prayed and to take spiritual responsibility for their families and communities.
Oyedepo said this was a moment for the church to stand firm and ask for protection over the nation, stressing that the cycle of attacks must be broken.
