Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, as he clocked 80 years on Monday.
Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, said the country benefited immensely from Obiozor’s unblemished services to the nation, including as Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; High Commissioner to Cyprus; as well as Ambassador to Israel and the United States.
Okowa who is also the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at next year’s general election described the octogenerian as an accomplished and erudite scholar, renowned author and seasoned diplomat, and an epitome of selflessness and statesmanship. He prayed that God would raise more persons in Obiozor’s mould in Nigeria’s political and socio-economic firmament.

“As you celebrate your 80th birth anniversary, I join your family, friends, well-wishers and Ndigbos worldwide to thank Almighty God for your life and to pray that He continues to bless you with robust health, greater wisdom, guidance, protection and enduring provisions,” Okowa added.
