This clash was crucial for both teams which occupy the bottom of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table, The Trumpet gathered.
During the game, the visitors exercised dominance over MFM FC but Ojodomo’s goal changed the rhythm of the game on matchday 20.
MFM had maintained the least position on the table but was able to leapfrog Heartland on goals difference with both teams having the same 20 points, from 20 league games.

Coach Christian Ishiekwene of MFM who was full of praise for Ojodomo said, “Micah Ojodomo brings something different to this team.
“I am happy he scored on his debut. The first time he trained with our team, he left a very good impression on me.
“He is such a fast and confident player and it showed today. I believe this victory will signal the start of something new for our team. We are confident of beating the drop and the process has started now,” he added.
MFM continues their renaissance after the acquisition of Ojodomo as they travel to take on Remo Stars which are fifth on the NPFL table with 32 points from 20 league games and the MFM coach is confident of pulling a string on MatchDay 21.
He said, “Remo beat us at home in the first stanza and we hope to pay them back in their own coins. We had close camping during the mid-season break and I believe this has given us the impetus to get results even on the road.”
