Apex lgbo Socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, has reaffirmed their support behind the Engr. David Umahi, the minister of work endorsement of the 8-year Presidency of President Bola Tinubu.

Ohanaeze said despite the face of prevalent challenges and economic turmoil experienced by Nigerians during the past 11 months Tinubu’s administration has delivered divideds of democracy.

A statement on Tuesday by its factional Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu lsiguzoro, stated that Nigerians, notably the Igbo Community, laud the ongoing projects and share the conviction expressed by the minister of works.

The organisation affirmed that President Tinubu’s performance is nothing short of miraculous and warrants an extended tenure from 2023 to 2031.

The statement read in part” Amidst the backdrop of national infrastructure development endeavours, particularly in the realm of delivering high-quality and enduring road networks utilizing innovative cement technology across the six geopolitical zones, the sentiment on the ground is unanimous.

“Nigerians, notably the Igbo community, laud the ongoing projects and share the conviction expressed by the Minister of Works, affirming that President Tinubu’s performance is nothing short of miraculous and warrants an extended tenure from 2023 to 2031.

“Reiterating its commitment to established rotational between the North and South based on the unwritten gentleman’s agreement existing since 1999, Ohanaeze Ndigbo emphasizes that following the end of Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year term in 2023, the Southern region should rightfully hold the presidency for the subsequent eight-year period until 2031.

“President Tinubu is thereby urged to replicate his ongoing infrastructural achievements in other spheres of governance in other to fortify his position and emerge unchallenged in the 2027 elections.

“Senator David Umahi’s tenure as Minister of Works over the last 11 months has been marked by remarkable success stories that have not only illuminated President Tinubu’s administration amidst economic adversities but have also garnered significant applause from Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

“The Minister’s innovative redesign of the Onitsha segment of the Second Niger Bridge, which saved the nation a substantial sum of 300 billion of taxpayer funds, alongside the completion of maintenance on the Third Mainland Bridge and the launching of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Super Highway, are testament to his impactful contributions.

“As massive road construction projects unfold across all regions of Nigeria, notably in the Southeast, with projections for completion by 2025/2026, It will be difficult for any contender to challenge Tinubu in 2027.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo conveys the organization’s profound gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing an Igbo, Senator David Umahi, for the first time in this political era. The assurance that Ndigbo will stand firmly behind Umahi to offer unwavering support, ensuring President Tinubu’s success in the forthcoming eight years, resonates strongly within the organization.
