Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas (JOT), Delta South senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the people of Ode-Itsekiri are too historical to be forgotten in the scheme of things, either political or otherwise.

He said it will be highly disrespectful for anyone seeking to represent Delta South to neglect the aboriginal abode of the Itsekiri ethnic nationality.

He made this statement on Wednesday when his campaign train stormed the coastal community, Joel-Onowakpo noted the people should vote out APC should they fail to perform after occupying office in 2023.

According to him, the APC government do not need 24 years to turn things around in Delta state but a paltry four years is enough to bring in appreciable development.

“You can not do the same thing the same way and expect a different result. If you have done something for 24 years and it is giving you a result that is less than appreciable, then you make a change.”

He explained that for any serious-minded government, a four-year tenure is enough to attract appreciable development that would instigate the people to push for their continuity in office.

“If we do not do it, don’t give us 24 years before you vote us out because four years will be enough to do appreciable things that will engineer everyone to push for our return.

Enumerating his achievement when he held sway as chairman of the Delta Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR), the Isoko-Izon man emphasized that the glory presently existing in the board including the gigantic infrastructures littered across the state are part of his administrative revolution.

He noted that if the APC government is voted into power across board, such a feat will be replicated in the entire senatorial district with Ode-Itsekiri to reap the dividends of good governance firsthand.

He continued: “APC has come to make changes so I appeal to you to come out to vote for APC in all elections with Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, me as your senator, Hon Ekpoto Ekpoto Emmanuel as member representing Warri federal constituency.

“Vote our amiable incoming governor, the Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, who is also your son and defendant of Nana of Koko, for governor of Delta state and Dr Michael Eyituoyo Merogun for Warri South state constituency.

“When you do these things and ask us what you want, I want to assure you on behalf of my brother and campaign team that we will do it without a rethink,” Joel-Onowakpo stated.

Meanwhile, at Oporoza and Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Michael Johnny has charged the people of Izon nation to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to live up to expectations.

Johnny, Director of Security, JOT senatorial campaign organisation, lamented that despite the humongous support the Ijaws rendered to the present Delta state government, they got nothing tangible to commensurate with it.

He added that the opportunity has come to change the rhetorics and form a new alliance with the APC which is well positioned to take over Delta state with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as governor, Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas as Delta south senator, Hon Ekpoto Ekpoto Emmanuel as member representing Warri Federal Constituency and Amb Clement Tekedor as member representing Warri Southwest state constituency.

The highlight of the senatorial campaign tour across the coastal communities is the people’s resolve to give all their votes to APC in all elections.

The APC Delta south senatorial campaign train led by Joel-Onowakpo included Prince Evans Omatsoguwa, Chairman of the Campaign Council, Chief Mike Seikegba, Director General of the Campaign Organisation; Mr Austin Orighoye, Delta South APC Chairman, Arch Ambrose Okuhor; Hon Benjamin Essien, Deputy Director of the Campaign, Engr Tuoyo Omatsuli, Director of Finance.

Also in the campaign train wasHon Andrew Egunoma, Director of Administration, Chief Beauty Wares, Director of Women Mobilisation; Dr Ogaga Ifowodo, Deputy Head, Media and Publicity, Chief Uyoyou Edhekpo, Edafewotu Endurance, MD The Trumpet, Michael Paul, Oviri Kelvin, Odidi Aguriase, Isike David and others.
