The National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA) has denied a circular on social media regarding the payment of outstanding stipends to Npower beneficiaries.
NSIPA stated that the information is false and urged beneficiaries, stakeholders, and the public to be cautious and avoid engaging with unofficial sources.
This was stated in a statement issued by the National Coordinator of NSIPA, Prof. Badamasi Lawal, on June 18, 2025.
The statement emphasized that such misinformation not only misleads the public but also damages the credibility of the agency’s programs.
Last week, an internal memo dated June 14 surfaced online, purportedly issued by the Director of Human Resource Management in the Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Adebayo Modupe, claiming that payments of outstanding stipends will begin in July.

In the statement, Prof. Badamasi said that the NSIPA has been made aware of the misleading and unauthorized online post, claiming that payments are currently being made to NSIPA program beneficiaries.
“We want to clearly state that this information is completely false, misleading, and should be disregarded entirely.
“NSIPA strongly condemns the dissemination of such misinformation, which not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of our programs.
“We urge beneficiaries, stakeholders, and the public to be cautious and avoid unofficial sources,” he advised.
Prof. Badamasi clarified that NSIPA does not announce or facilitate payment disbursements through Facebook or any unofficial social media platforms.
“All official updates regarding NSIPA payments are communicated solely through our verified channels and traditional media,” he said.
