In a demonstration of solidarity and empathy, the Northern States Governors’ Forum, led by the newly appointed Chairman and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has extended a lifeline to the victims of the Tudun Biri bombing incident in Kaduna State.
During the forum’s inaugural meeting on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Council Chamber, Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna, a donation of N180 million was presented to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.
Governor Inuwa, in a communique issued at the end of the meeting, expressed the forum’s heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kaduna State.
The tragic incident occurred in the Tudun Biri Community of Igabi Local Government Area, resulting in the loss of lives and properties.
Governor Inuwa conveyed the forum’s prayers for the repose of the departed souls and the swift recovery of those injured.
Acknowledging the prompt and effective response of both Kaduna State and Federal Governments, the forum resolved to collaborate on a thorough investigation, compensation for victims, and preventive measures for the future.
Beyond the immediate crisis, the governors pledged collective efforts towards addressing broader regional issues.

These include bolstering security measures, fostering peaceful coexistence, promoting economic development, tackling youth unemployment, combating drug abuse, and revitalizing education at all levels.
Commending the Federal Government’s intensified efforts against insecurity, the forum emphasized its commitment to united action.
Strategies include collaboration with security agencies, reinforcing local law enforcement, engaging communities, adopting modern technology, implementing administrative reforms, and addressing root causes such as poverty, unemployment, and social inequality, they said would be put in place.
The governors, as noticed by The Trumpet, also visited Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna to personally offer comfort and solidarity to the injured victims undergoing treatment.
