The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has attracted significant interest from industry stakeholders at the ongoing Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) 2026, with delegates trooping to its exhibition stand to explore investment opportunities and gain insights into the company’s operations.

NNPC Limited is one of the major sponsors of the annual conference, which commenced on Monday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Since the opening ceremony, the company’s exhibition stand has continued to receive a steady stream of visitors, including operators, service providers, investors, industry professionals and students seeking information on developments across Nigeria’s energy sector.

Officials of NNPC Limited engaged delegates on the company’s activities in the upstream, gas and power, and downstream segments of the petroleum industry, while also providing updates on ongoing projects and opportunities for strategic partnerships across the energy value chain.

As part of the conference activities, the Senior Business Adviser to the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Lawal Musa, participated in a topical issues workshop, where he delivered a presentation on the theme: “The Expanding Role of Independents in Nigeria’s Upstream: Reimagining Ownership, Operations and Financing.”

During his presentation, Musa examined the evolving role of indigenous independent operators in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas industry, focusing on emerging trends in asset ownership, operational management and financing.

He noted that indigenous companies are increasingly taking control of producing assets, creating new opportunities for growth and investment, while NNPC Limited continues to play a strategic role as both a joint venture partner and operator in the country’s upstream sector.

The annual SPE-NAICE conference brings together key players from Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and the international energy community to discuss emerging trends, technological innovations, investment opportunities and policies shaping the future of the sector.
