The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has announced the appointment of Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaehie as the institution’s new substantive vice-chancellor, effective November 19, 2025.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the office of the head, information and public relations on November 16, 2025.

The release, said the university’s governing council approved Prof. Anyaehie’s appointment for a single tenure of five years, following his confirmation by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Monsur Olugbenga.
Prof. Anyaehie, a renowned scholar in physiology and clinical neasurements, will take over from Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, who has been serving as acting vice-chancellor.
