Aggrieved staff of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) have threatened to recommence their suspended industrial action on Wednesday.
This follows the expiration given to the NiMet management to address their grievances.
The. staff under the aegis of the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Association of Aviation Professionals (ASAP), Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations And Government owned Companies (SSASCGOC), and the Amalgamated Union of Public Service Employees (AUPSE), have announced plans to resume their suspended strike within the next 72 hours due to unsatisfactory outcomes from ongoing negotiations.
The staff outlined a 7-point demand to address their urgent needs and improve their living standards.
They are advocating for the full implementation of salary relativity to ensure equitable pay for similar roles, as well as the payment of outstanding wages for 30 staff members who were excluded from the 2019 National Minimum Wage adjustments.
