A Nigerian man based in Vienna, Austria, Kingsley Ugiagbe, has ignited a wave of fear and outrage after threatening to poison Igbos living in Austria. In response to this alarming development, Uzoma Ahamefule, a concerned Nigerian, has filed a strongly worded petition to the leadership of the National Assembly, urging immediate action.
Ahamefule, a human rights activist and social justice crusader, sent the petition to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas. In the letter, he expressed deep concern over Ugiagbe’s chilling threats, which were made during a TikTok virtual meeting.
During the meeting, Ugiagbe, who is from Edo State and a member of the “Edo Community Vienna,” brazenly declared his intent to poison Igbos at a forthcoming cultural event. He went so far as to say that the first victim would be the Chairman of the Igbo Community.
“I will come to the Edo party with poison. The first person I will give the poison to is the Chairman of Ndigbo,” Ugiagbe was quoted as saying in the viral video. He urged his fellow Edo people to carry out similar attacks, further intensifying fear within the Igbo community in Austria.

The viral TikTok video has caused widespread panic among Nigerians in Austria, with the Igbo community now living in fear of potential attacks. Ahamefule stressed that this escalating situation could spiral out of control if urgent action is not taken by Nigerian authorities. He also raised concerns about the unknown individuals who participated in the virtual meeting, questioning their motives and potential involvement in a broader plan to target Igbos.
Meanwhile, the Edo Community in Vienna has distanced itself from Ugiagbe’s incendiary statements and issued a public disclaimer. The group has suspended Ugiagbe from their organization and condemned his remarks, emphasizing that they do not reflect the values of the Edo people.
Despite the suspension, Ahamefule has urged lawmakers to investigate the matter thoroughly, as the threat to Nigerian lives abroad is becoming an alarming trend. “Nigerians must learn to be tolerant, have self-control, and conduct themselves properly,” he wrote, stressing that threats to life are a serious offense under the criminal code of most countries.
In his petition, Ahamefule called on the Nigerian government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of Nigerians in Austria. He pointed to a similar incident in Canada, where swift action was taken, and urged lawmakers to intervene to prevent a potential tragedy.
