Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 21 kidnapped victims and dismantled several bandits’ camps during a coordinated security operation in Plateau State.
The operation, carried out in Daji Madam Forest, involved personnel of the 33 Artillery Brigade working alongside operatives from the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Security sources said troops launched a targeted assault on criminal hideouts in the Dogo Ruwa and Bogwas areas, forcing the bandits to flee as their camps were overrun and destroyed.

During the operation, 21 victims held captive by the armed group were freed. Authorities confirmed that the rescued individuals would receive medical attention before being reunited with their families.
The offensive forms part of sustained efforts to clear forest enclaves used by criminal groups for kidnapping and related crimes across Plateau State and neighbouring areas.
Officials added that troops are currently pursuing fleeing suspects to prevent regrouping, as security operations in the region continue to intensify.
