Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, of Adamawa state, has highlighted the importance of self-reflection and collective responsibility in addressing the nation’s shortcomings.
Giving the highlights while congratulating Nigerians on the nation’s 64th Independence anniversary, he acknowledged the challenges faced on its journey to nationhood.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s progress, especially since the return to democracy 24 years ago, he expressed optimism for the country’s future.
The governor who gave the message via a statement issued out to Journalists by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, emphasized that progress can only be achieved when individuals take responsibility for their actions rather than adopting a victim mentality.
“Some of these weaknesses are within our means to correct, but we will only succeed if we are brave and honest enough to accept responsibility for our actions and reject the convenient attitude of playing the victim and blaming others,” the Governor remarked.
Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that every citizen of Adamawa State benefits from the state’s ongoing development efforts.
He also praised the resilience of Nigerians, stating, “Though 64 years is brief for a nation, we’ve had time to make significant changes.”

The governor also lamented the way and manner unpatriotic acts and injustice have impeded Nigeria’s growth.
His administration, as made known by him,will continue to focus on empowering Adamawa citizens through human capital development, infrastructure investments, and initiatives aimed at boosting the economy and improving living standards.
While commenting on the current economic hardships, he expressed optimism, stating that, “I see hope in Nigeria’s future. Let’s work together to provide good governance and democracy dividends.”
He urged citizens to unite in supporting government initiatives, noting that the new direction of governance signals the country’s potential for growth and progress.
The governor who took his time to commend the security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace and order in the state, emphasized the importance of not compromising the hard-earned peace in the region.
