Former Barcelona winger, Emmanuel Amunike, is reportedly set to beef up the technical crew of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a meeting that involved top members of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) at the weekend.
According to the NFF decision-makers, despite the second-round exit by the Super Eagles from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021, the inputs of Augustine Eguavoen and his technical team are commendable.
They said after undertaking reviews of the team’s performance, there is a need to engage the service of the brilliant Amunike to help the technical crew.
It will be recalled that ex FC Porto boss, Jose Peseiro, was favoured to take over as Super Eagles boss after the AFCON but the NFF has decided to dump him and trust in indigenous coaches.

The decision to employ Amunike is reportedly expected to be finalized in the new week.
Amunike will be hoping to bring his technical expertise to the table when the Super Eagles face Ghana at the two-legged FIFA World Cup playoffs in March.
