The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed its shock and sorrow following the tragic death of Mr. Sunday Ndidi, the father of Wilfred Ndidi, captain of the Super Eagles, in a car accident.
NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, stated: “This is incredibly sad. The player recently gave his all for the nation at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco, where we secured bronze medals.
“He had returned to Turkey filled with motivation and high hopes of helping his club achieve success this season, as well as aiding the Super Eagles in reaching new heights this year.

“We are truly shocked right now and find it hard to express our feelings, but we sincerely pray for the soul of Mr. Sunday Ndidi and ask that God provide comfort to our team captain, his siblings, relatives, and everyone he has left behind.”
According to the NFF, Mr. Sunday Ndidi sadly lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in Umunede, near Agbor, Delta State.
