The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Navigation 360 Foundation. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between government-led technology incubation initiatives and communities at the grassroots level. The development was revealed in a statement issued by NBTI’s Chief Information and Public Relations Officer, Olajumoke David.

During a high-level visit to the NBTI Headquarters in Abuja, the National President of Navigation 360 Foundation, Alhaja Olabisi Eletu, stressed the pressing need to connect rural communities with the transformative services offered by government institutions. According to her, a large portion of Nigerians remain unaware of impactful government initiatives that could improve their economic realities. With an established presence in all 774 local government areas, the Foundation intends to amplify NBTI’s visibility and grassroots influence nationwide.

“Our mission is to showcase the good work NBTI is doing by cascading it to the grassroots,” Alhaja Eletu said, emphasizing the Foundation’s commitment to community enlightenment and local enterprise support.

Welcoming the initiative, NBTI’s Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, hailed the partnership as timely and necessary for scaling technology incubation efforts across the country. He reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship through the establishment and expansion of Technology Incubation Centres, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which focuses on poverty reduction, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.

Dr. Raji shared a compelling success story of a formerly illiterate woman who, through the support of NBTI, now operates a thriving business generating over N1.2 billion annually. He described the achievement as a powerful example of how access to incubation and innovation can transform lives and stimulate wealth creation.

With Nigeria’s population exceeding 237 million, Dr. Raji emphasized the untapped potential for locally manufactured products to thrive in domestic and continental markets. He also called on the National Assembly to provide legal backing for Executive Orders 003 and 005, which promote the patronage of locally made goods. Institutionalizing these orders, he said, would curb capital flight, boost local production, and strengthen Nigeria’s export economy.

He further praised President Tinubu’s infrastructural drive, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Badagry-Sokoto Highway projects, describing the President as a welfarist leader with a vision for national prosperity.
The partnership between NBTI and Navigation 360 Foundation is set to enhance grassroots participation in technology-driven enterprise development, support innovation ecosystems across local communities, and accelerate Nigeria’s journey toward a more inclusive, innovation-powered economy.
