The Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy demonstrated its commitment to fitness and operational readiness with a quarterly route march in Yenagoa on Saturday. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, mental alertness, and solidarity among officers and personnel.
The march began at the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH Parade Ground, covering a route through Opolo to the Tombia Roundabout before returning to base. The exercise, which lasted two and a half hours, saw active participation from senior naval officers, including the Commander of NNS SOROH, Commodore Nanmar Lakan.
Following the march, the Acting Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Olusegun Soyemi, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and reiterated the importance of fitness for mission success.
“The exercise is designed to ensure that officers and personnel are physically fit and ready for the tasks ahead,” Rear Admiral Soyemi said. “It also fosters solidarity and reassures the public that they have a Navy capable of fulfilling its duties.”
