Nigerians are facing yet another blackout as the national grid collapsed again on Thursday, November 7, 2024. This marks the second grid failure in a week and the twelfth in the past eleven months, highlighting the worsening instability in the country’s power infrastructure.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) confirmed the outage in a message to customers, stating, “Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today at 11:29 Hrs, affecting supply within our network.” IKEDC assured customers that restoration efforts were underway, adding, “Restoration of supply is ongoing. Kindly bear with us.”
