A group, Peter Obi Support Network on Monday in Abuja unfolded a plan to raise N600 million from six million Nigerians who are expected to contribute a token of N1,000 each towards the presidential ambition of the former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi.
The fund will be raised through online medium and direct payment into the group’s dedicated bank account The Trumpet gathered.
Addressing a rally of coordinators of Peter Obi support groups across the states in Abuja, the Director of Strategy and Mobilization for Peter Obi Support Network (POSN), Marcel Ngogbehei said the N600 million expected to be realised from the process will go into Obi’s presidential campaign fund pool.
Having realised that the former governor is not a money bag and that activities ahead of the May 28 and 29 presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) require heavy spending, he said N600 million will go a long way to boost the campaign funds of the aspirant.
Ngogbehei said the group will mobilize over six million Nigerians who believe in the ability and capacity of Obi to lead the country out of her present decay and maladministration. “Peter Obi possesses all the good leadership qualities that Nigerians look up to in a President,” he said.
He said Obi’s record as a former governor of Anambra state has shown that he was prudent in governance.

“We need a president who can manage the nation’s economy and the resources and create wealth that would rank Nigeria among the prosperous countries in the world”
” Peter Obi has also proven that he is a responsible leader that can foster national unity and cohesion. He has short and long term plans that focus on citizens, not personal benefits”.
“We want a responsible leadership with short and long term plans, focusing on citizens and not personal benefits. We have judged the contestants concerning their antecedents and Peter Obi has proved himself.
“When he was governor of Anambra State, he governed well. So, the Peter Obi support network is beyond him,” Ngogbehei said adding that a new Nigeria is possible with Peter Obi as President.
