Thousands of unpaid N-Power beneficiaries, under the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries (NANB), have issued a 30-day ultimatum to the federal government to clear their one-year unpaid allowances.
In a letter dated September 2, 2025, and addressed to the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, the group warned that if payments are not made by the end of September, they would embark on a nationwide protest in October and resume suspended court cases against the government.
The beneficiaries recalled suspending their legal action in July after the deputy senate president’s intervention, but said the government has failed to take meaningful action since then.

“This silence has thrown thousands of us into severe hardship,” the association lamented.
The beneficiaries insist they served from October 2022 to September 2023 before the programme was suspended, yet their stipends remain unpaid.
They have already sued the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the minister of justice, the accountant-general of the federation, and the N-Power programme manager over the matter.
