Key Highlights

  • MultiChoice Nigeria has renewed its Calabar Entertainment Conference and Festival partnership for a 10th consecutive year.
  • The 2026 event is scheduled for October 23 and 24 in Calabar.
  • The conference will take place on Friday, with the festival following on Saturday.
  • Organisers say the event has grown into a two-day programme since 2024.
  • The festival is expected to include live music, food, drinks and games.
  • MultiChoice says its support aligns with efforts to encourage creative talent and Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

MultiChoice Nigeria Extends Decade-Long Partnership

Hit 95.9 FM, the Cross River-based station that organises the Calabar Entertainment Conference and Festival (CECF), announced the renewal. The partnership has run since the event began, according to the organisers.

The gathering brings together entertainment professionals, creatives and emerging talents to connect and exchange ideas. Organisers say the programme expanded into a two-day event in 2024. Hit 95.9 FM’s announcement outlines the renewal and this year’s programme.

Calabar Entertainment Conference Returns in October

The 10th edition is scheduled for Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Calabar. The conference will hold on Friday, with discussions and engagement for people working across the creative and entertainment industries. The festival will follow on Saturday.

What to Expect at the Festival

Organisers say Saturday’s festival will offer live music, food, drinks and games. The public-facing programme is expected to bring together young people, entertainment enthusiasts, creators and industry stakeholders.

Patrick Ugbe, executive producer of the festival, described the relationship with MultiChoice as more than a commercial sponsorship, saying it reflects continued support for Nigeria’s creative industry. He expressed appreciation for the company’s backing as the event enters its 10th year.

MultiChoice Reaffirms Support for the Creative Industry

Tope Oshunkeye, senior vice president for communications at MultiChoice Nigeria, said the company was pleased to continue its relationship with CECF. He said the partnership aligns with its interest in supporting creative talent and contributing to Nigeria’s entertainment ecosystem.

The renewal marks a decade of partnership. Organisers expect the October programme to bring together creative professionals, emerging talents and members of the public for the two-day event in Calabar.
