Actor Debo Adebayo, known as Mr. Macaroni slammed the head of NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa over her comments regarding popular singer Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM1.
The controversy began after KWAM1 had a disagreement with staff at ValueJet while trying to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. He was stopped from bringing a flask on the plane because the staff claimed it contained alcohol.
The situation escalated when the pilot, Captain Ranti Ogoyi, said KWAM1 accidentally spilled some of the flask’s contents on her during the discussion.
In a video that surfaced online, KWAM1 was seen refusing to move away from the aircraft, which was preparing to take off. Some viewers expressed concern for his safety as he came close to being hit by the plane.
Due to the backlash from this incident, KWAM1 issued an apology to President Tinubu, the flight captain, his fans, and anyone else who felt offended by his actions.
In response, Abike Dabiri shared a video of KWAM1’s apology on social media, commenting that “to err is human.”
However, many people felt her message downplayed the seriousness of the incident, suggesting it should be forgiven solely because he apologized.

Mr. Macaroni reacted by posting on his X account, stating that Abike’s tweet showed she was unfit for her public position. He argued that her message implied it was acceptable for someone to commit a wrongdoing, apologize, and then escape any consequences.
“Ma, I just want to say that this is highly reprehensible. You don’t deserve to hold a public office.
You have set a very dangerous precedent with this tweet.
You have told Nigerians it is okay to commit a crime and can issue an apology to absolve yourself without consequences”. He posted.
