After 10 years of redundancy and rot, the Moshood Abiola National Stadium may be witnessing sporting activities again if the current rehabilitation work at the stadium is completed,
The stadium which for a decade played home to rodents and reptiles is currently undergoing rehabilitation and it is expected to be a beehive of activities soon The Trumpet gathered.
While Football lovers and sports fans would heave a sigh of relief after a long 10 years of deprivation of national sporting activities.
The Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare, had assured Nigerians that football activities would return to the stadium soon after the rehabilitation work has been completed and certified to host major national and international football competitions.

He added that the stadium will host the Presidential Cup scheduled for next year as the first major tournament in a decade.
According to the minister, “This is the first competitive tournament to take place in the National Stadium after its renovation.”
The tournament will be competed by four teams, Sunshine Stars, Kano Pillars, Lobi Stars, and Akwa United, teams from the Nigeria football league on a standard synthetic football pitch.
