In anticipation of a nationwide protest scheduled for today, the Adamawa State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security operation aimed at ensuring peace and public safety throughout the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, at the time of filing this report, has directed all units and divisions under his command to remain on high alert following intelligence reports that several groups allegedly operating under the guise of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are planning large-scale demonstrations.
These protests are reportedly aimed at highlighting the rising cost of living and perceived government suppression of free speech.
According to the command, the protest is being heavily promoted across social media in an attempt to galvanize public support and discredit government institutions.
Authorities fear that criminal elements may exploit the situation to incite violence, vandalize government property, and disrupt daily activities.

To prevent any security breaches, the police have increased surveillance and stationed officers at key locations across the state, including Labour House, major roundabouts, markets, airports, and government buildings.
The operation’s primary objectives are to ensure the protest remains peaceful, prevent any criminal hijack, maintain the free flow of traffic, and protect lives and property.
Units participating in the operation include personnel from the Department of Operations, State CID, PMF 14 Yola, PMF 65 Mubi, Special Protection Unit Base 3 Yola, Counter-Terrorism Unit Base 14, Anti-Bomb Squad, and all divisional headquarters across Adamawa.
The police have also called on residents to remain calm, go about their lawful activities, and report any suspicious movements to the authorities.
The command reiterated its commitment to protecting law-abiding citizens and ensuring the security of the state before, during, and after the protest.
