The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohammed Marwa (rtd) has commissioned a state-of-the-art Vision Centre at the NDLEA National Headquarters, Annex in Abuja.
The new facility is a product of strategic collaboration between the NDLEA and the Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA), in partnership with OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation.
The centre is equipped to deliver affordable, comprehensive, and high-quality eye care services to NDLEA personnel, their families, and the public.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Marwa emphasised that the project aligns with the agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance staff welfare, well-being, and productivity.
“We are here with every sense of fulfilment and happiness to commission this Vision Centre,” Marwa stated.
Reflecting on the importance of eye health, he added that “vision is key to productivity and quality of life. I urge all officers and personnel to prioritize regular eye checkups.”
He expressed gratitude to the NOA and its partners for choosing NDLEA as a beneficiary of the initiative, applauding the voluntary service and commitment of the optometrists who will manage the centre.
“This Vision Centre is a worthy addition to our several initiatives to promote and prioritise the well-being of our workforce,” Marwa said.

He noted that the idea for the Vision Centre was conceived during a meeting with NDLEA in Lagos and commended the agency’s leadership for embracing the concept.

He said the facility also reflects a broader effort to build collaborative healthcare frameworks between security agencies and professional medical associations in Nigeria.
