The Executive Chairman, Isoko-South Local Government, Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, has presented a supplementary budget of N2.2 billion for 2024. This proposal, which focuses on education, health, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment, was submitted to the legislative arm of government.
Comrade Warri emphasized that the supplementary budget is essential to address the pressing needs of the region. His administration aims to operate with transparency and inclusivity, ensuring vital areas like education, healthcare, and agriculture receive top priority. Additionally, empowering women and youth through developmental programs remains central to his administration’s agenda.
“We inherited numerous challenges when we came into office just a few months ago. This supplementary budget will help us tackle those needs without exceeding the annual fiscal budget, which could lead to severe consequences,” Warri explained.

Leader of the Isoko South legislative arm, Friday Olokor, assured the Chairman of swift action on the budget proposal. Olokor commended Warri’s administration for approving new furniture for the council and reiterated the legislative arm’s support in achieving the goals aligned with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s “MORE Agenda.”
Vice Chairperson Theresa Ikrike, Special Adviser Hon. Chief Efe Okolosi-Ozoro, and several other council officials accompanied Warri during the budget presentation.
In a separate event, Comrade Warri addressed members of the Isoko National Youth Congress, urging young people to avoid the use of illicit drugs. Warri, who met with the group led by President Abel Edigbe, stressed the importance of standing strong against peer pressure and harmful behaviors.
“Combating drug abuse requires a collective effort from all societal sectors, including parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. Together, we can create a drug-free society,” Warri stated.
