Singer Davido is sad to have allegedly lost his composure in court during cross-examination in a custody case.
Lawyer Maruf Muhammed took to Twitter to claim that the singer was present in Yaba court for a custody dispute with his ex-partner, Sophia Momodu.
He stated that during the cross-examination, Davido became impatient and caused a disturbance in the courtroom.
“Davido is currently in High Court, Yaba! Come witness the drama unfolding. The lawyer made OO1 lose his cool during cross-examination! No matter how high you rise, the law is above you!”
In response, one user remarked that cross-examination can be tough, especially for those unaccustomed to the pressure of court appearances.
“It’s quite easy to rattle someone, even a novice lawyer can make him lose his patience. Anyone not used to court can feel stressed during cross-examination.
“It doesn’t matter how famous or composed someone is! Cross-examination is designed to shake things up, even if they seem solid at first. Every lawyer aims to find a way to disrupt the situation.”
Maruf agreed, stating that the lawyer’s tactics had undermined Davido, provoking his anger, but fortunately, his father was there to help calm him down.
“Yes, indeed! The lawyer got to him and made him feel diminished, which led to his frustration. Thankfully, his father was there to support him.”
Last year, Davido filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of their daughter, Imade, claiming that Sophia was denying him access and financially exploiting him, which she denied.

A week later, she contested his request for joint custody, citing the death of his son and other reasons as to why she believed he was unfit to care for their daughter alone.
Last year, Davido shared that he had finally reunited with his daughter, posting photos of them together and calling it the best day of his life.
The former couple came together for the first time in three years to celebrate Imade’s 10th birthday, where they were seen maintaining social distance while posing for pictures with their daughter.
Tensions escalated between Davido and Sophia after he reconnected with his current wife, Chioma.
This situation left Sophia upset, leading her to post about a cat not tolerating nonsense from a dog, followed by a lengthy rant accusing him of financial abuse.
