Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal officially commenced the renovation of the General Hospital in Anka Local Government Area on Saturday.
The initiative, as gathered by The Trumpet, is part of the governor’s commitment to enhance healthcare accessibility for the people of the state.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, issued a statement emphasizing the governor’s hands-on approach to addressing healthcare challenges.
The Governor, it would be recalled, having personally inspected the Anka General Hospital a few months ago, identified key areas requiring improvement.
The renovation project flagged off with a groundbreaking ceremony, marks a crucial step in the administration’s broader strategy to bring positive changes to the health sector.
The spokesperson stated, “Today, Governor Dauda Lawal flagged off the renovation of Anka General Hospital as part of his administration’s commitment to bring sanity to the health sector in the state.”

Furthermore, it was emphasized that the state government is resolute in extending this healthcare revitalization initiative to all general hospitals across Zamfara’s local government areas.
The plan, he said, includes comprehensive renovation and equipping of these healthcare facilities to ensure they meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community.
Governor Lawal, during his remarks at the ceremony, reaffirmed his promise to rehabilitate the General Hospital Anka and assured that the necessary funds for both renovation and equipment are secured.
He expressed confidence that the project would proceed without hindrance, aiming for completion soon.
“We are making progress in the fight against insecurity and will continue to explore new ways to improve the lives of our people. This is just the beginning,” the governor stated.
