Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season on Sunday, after defeating Levante 4-2 at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
The defending champions raced into a two-goal lead in the first half before Lamine Yamal struck again from the penalty spot shortly after the restart to put Barcelona firmly in control.
Barcelona took the lead inside five minutes when Xavi Espart finished from a Raphinha assist, before Yamal doubled the advantage in the 19th minute following another delivery from the Brazilian winger.
Yamal added his second goal of the afternoon three minutes into the second half, converting a penalty to make it 3-0.
Levante refused to give up and were rewarded in the 79th minute when Iván Romero capitalised on a defensive mistake to pull one back.
Roger Brugué then reduced the deficit further nine minutes later, setting up a tense finish as the home side searched for an unlikely equaliser.

However, Barcelona held their composure and substitute Karim Adeyemi settled the contest in the third minute of stoppage time, firing home to restore the visitors’ two-goal advantage.
The victory keeps Barcelona’s perfect league record intact and moves them three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the table.
Barcelona, managed by Hansi Flick, will return to action on Wednesday when they host Racing Santander.
