The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a coordinated early-morning raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
The operation, conducted by the elite Bullock Tactical Team around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, followed credible intelligence reports linking the suspects to a network of violent crimes and cult activities terrorizing residents of Ikorodu and its environs.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the suspects were allegedly plotting fresh attacks when officers swooped in on their hideout. Those arrested include Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25).
Recovered items from the suspects include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, fetish charms, and counterfeit U.S. dollar bills amounting to $3,000.

During interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele reportedly confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in Odogunyan. He also admitted to handing over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect and recover the weapon,” SP Adebisi confirmed in the statement.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the tactical team for its precision and professionalism, assuring Lagos residents of continued police vigilance. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to dismantling cult networks, curb robbery incidents, and restore lasting peace in Ikorodu and across the state.
CP Jimoh also appealed to the public to remain alert and report suspicious movements to the nearest police station, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital in the ongoing battle against crime in Lagos.
