The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has praised the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Delta State, describing the exercise as credible and a strong reflection of internal party democracy.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the minister congratulated the winners across the three senatorial districts — Ifeanyi Okowa for Delta North, Ede Dafinone for Delta Central, and Joel-Onowapo Thomas for Delta South.

Keyamo said the primaries witnessed impressive participation from party members at the ward level and were conducted in what he described as a largely free and fair atmosphere.
According to him, the exercise ranks among the most organised APC primaries held in Delta State since the party was established.
“As a foundation member and leader of the APC in Delta State, and one of the first senatorial aspirants of the party in 2013, I can state unequivocally that this is the best primaries organised by the party in the state since its inception,” he said.
The minister appealed to aspirants who lost in the primaries to accept the outcome in good faith and support the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also urged the successful candidates to embrace reconciliation by reaching out to their former opponents and integrating their supporters into the party structure.
Keyamo further commended Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as inclusive leadership and expressed optimism about the governor’s political future.
The minister also praised Bola Tinubu for encouraging internal democracy within the APC and allowing transparent primary elections across the country.
He criticised politicians who depended solely on political influence from Abuja, rather than building grassroots support, saying the outcome of the primaries should serve as a lesson in party organisation and engagement.
Keyamo concluded by urging APC members nationwide to remain committed to the party’s growth and expressed confidence in its chances ahead of the 2027 elections.
