In a stern response to the recent wave of vandalism and theft targeting food supplies in Birnin-Kebbi, the State Government has issued a strong condemnation.
The Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, alongside Commissioners, Special Advisers, and Heads of Security Agencies, convened an emergency meeting on Sunday evening to address the concerning situation.
Security agencies briefed the assembly on the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incidents, particularly the targeted theft of rice in various areas within Birnin-Kebbi town.

In response, the government has scheduled an expanded emergency meeting of the Executive Council and Security Council for Monday, April 1st, 2024, at 10:00 am to deliberate further on the matter.
Meanwhile, security measures are being intensified to quell the situation and apprehend the perpetrators.
The government implores law-abiding citizens of Kebbi State not to succumb to the influence of these disruptive elements and to remain vigilant.
