The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Usman has declared his support for the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dr Dikko Radda.
The traditional ruler, who declared his support on Sunday when the APC campaign train paid him a courtesy visit at his palace, said Dikko is a bold relative of his, hence the reason for the support.
In a statement issued to newsmen by the Director, Media and Publicity, Katsina State APC Campaign Council, Ahmed Abdulkadir, the emir said other candidates had approached him for his support but that he declined for Dikko’s sake.
According to the statement, “The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, has declared his support for the candidature of Dr Dikko Umar Radda, the Katsina APC Gubernatorial Candidate.
“He declared the support in his palace when Dr Radda paid him homage during his campaign tour of Katsina Central Senatorial District while responding to Radda’s address.
“He said several politicians had approached him for his support but he declined, saying that Dr Dikko Radda was his blood relative and he had decided to support him during the 2023 election.

“Earlier, the APC Gubernatorial Candidate had told the Emir some of the things contained in his policy document that were geared towards lifting the living standards of the less privileged people in the society.
“He said he would boost the economy by injecting funds into the micro-finance banks in the state to give interest-free loans to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
“He also has plan to establish a ministry for the MSMEs.
“The APC Gubernatorial Candidate also said his policy document contained everything in all sectors that were geared towards lifting the living standards of the people.
“He was accompanied during the visits by his running mate, Alhaji Faruk Joɓe, the APC Katsina State Chairman, Sani Daura, the Director-General, APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, The APC Katsina Central Senatorial Candidate, Rtd. Colonel Abdul’aziz Musa Ƴar’Adua, other contestants and many other important dignitaries.”
