The Kano State Government has suspended the end of Month environmental sanitation exercise for the month of March, 2025.
The state Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Dr Dahiru Hashim, announced the suspension in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Ismail Gwammaja, late Thursday night, citing that, the suspension of the exercise was necessitated to allow residents to prepare adequately for the upcoming Sallah celebration.
According to him, the decision was made to allow residents to focus on the sallah preparation which is just around the corner and also allow people into the commercial city for commercial purposes.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner further explained that the sanitation exercise on Friday for Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs, Motor parks and Market Places would still hold as usual on Friday the 28th March, 2025
While pointing out that the routine sanitation will resume in April, he however restated the ministry’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment and also urged the residents to always practice good hygiene and keep a clean environment.
