The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended popular Kannywood actress, Samha Inuwa for one year over allegations of indecent dressing and provocative content in her videos.
The decision followed numerous public complaints, and the board represented by its Information Officer, Abdullahi Sulaiman, stated that Inuwa had been repeatedly warned about her “crude dressing, vulgar displays and inappropriate language,” but did not comply with the regulations.
“As part of the disciplinary action, the board has revoked her status and will no longer censor any films in which she appears,” the board said.

The board reaffirmed its mandate to ensure that all creative works meet the state’s religious, cultural and moral standards.
“This suspension is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to maintain moral standards in the Kannywood film industry and ensure strict adherence to its rules and regulations,” the statement added.
