
The Delta South Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has given relief funds to flood victims of the APC family in Ijaw nation.
Joel-Onowakpo who was represented by the Director General of the JOT Senatorial Campaign Organisation, Hon. Chief Michael Seikegba, said the effect of the flood on the people of Delta South was enormous, hence, the need to show love and compassion.
The fund, which was disbursed on Monday at the campaign office in Emede was meant for flood victims of APC in Bomadi, Burutu, Patani, Warri South and Warri North LGAs.
Recall that Joel-Onowakpo, who was also a victim of the flood has been showing love and concern to different groups and communities, providing relief materials, food items and cash across the senatorial district following the ravaging effects of the flood.

According to him, serving the people of Delta South in whatever capacity within his powers is a worthy cause that he shall continue to pursue. He pledged to continue the prioritisation of the interests and well-being of the Delta South people when elected as Senator representing the crude oil-rich area.
While appreciating Joel-Onowakpo for his kind gesture, Chief Chris Ekiyor, ADG Ijaw nation said the APC senatorial candidate has demonstrated a rare and true character of a leader deserved by the Delta South people.
He urged people of the region to look beyond parochial interest and elect Joel-Onowakpo Thomas as the next senator representing the area while adding that Joel-Onowakpo is sound, humble, dogged, intelligent and has the capacity to make Delta South better.
